The Staff is personally invested in making sure each visitor has the most relaxing and unforgettable stay possible, and as such, provides help with all planning, down to the detail.
Guests can reach Rome by Metro – transportation to and from the closest Metro station is provided, as well as transportation to nearby local restaurants. For your convenience, all guests are provided with a mobile phone free of charge during your stay at the Flavor of Italy Bed & Breakfast – the only costs you incur are the calls. A handy tool in order to contact any museums or restaurants concerning reservations, or even to reach us back here at the home base, the mobiles are capable of both local and international calls.
Perhaps the best service of all is old-fashioned Italian home cooking, done by owner Wendy Holloway upon request daily. The delicious menu runs the full gamut of typical Roman cuisine, including pizza from the traditional wood burning oven. Food is served on a beautiful terrace outside in the summer and springtime, offering guests a breathtaking view of the countryside and the swimming pool, while the winter brings a cozy tinello for dining, complete with roaring fire. Those wishing to further their experience with Italian cuisine can opt to take culinary classes daily, visit nearby vineyards, or see how locals produce the time-honored staples of olive oil, mozzarella and ricotta cheese, as well as certain jams and honey.
Flavor of Italy is committed to helping conserve the environment and utilizes a number of green policies in the running of our B&B. Flavor of Italy follows a philosophy of eco-gastronomy, i.e. serving excellent food that is sustainably produced (farm to table). As food can contribute up to one third of your carbon footprint we believe buying locally produced food and growing our own is one of the greenest things we can do. We are active members of the Rome chapter of the Slow Food organization and adhere to an ecotourism management philosophy. |
